Through the L&S Division of Undergraduate Studies, we have offered the following programs in the past:

L&S Discovery Courses
The L&S seven-course breadth requirement gives students the opportunity to explore fascinating worlds of knowledge. L&S Discovery Courses were courses ideally suited to fulfill the L&S breadth requirement in engaging ways. These courses were taught by some of the best teachers among the Berkeley faculty. Deliberately designed to engage and ignite the minds of non-experts, L&S Discovery Courses were destined to be unforgettable.
The L&S Discovery Course program was administered by the College of Letters & Science’s Division of Undergraduate Studies and served students in all colleges and schools across the UC Berkeley campus. The program was generously supported in part by donors to the L&S Leadership Fund.

L&S C5 / UGBA C5: Introduction to Entrepreneurship
2 Units, Letter Grade
This course offered students a taste of what it’s really like to start a business. In addition to learning key foundational entrepreneurial concepts such as idea generation & evaluation, customer & product development, creating a business model, fundraising, marketing, and scaling & exiting a business, students also heard from successful entrepreneurs who share their perspectives and best practices. Students applied core concepts by working in teams to evaluate and select a venture idea that they then developed throughout the semester.
Offered in partnership with the Haas School of Business.
